For the last three years, the RUHRORTER collective has done site-specific theatre and art projects with refugees in the post-industrial Ruhr Valley
The aim of the collective is to create sustainable, long-term artistic encounters and political collaborations between refugees, local authorities, and theatre institutions. Its projects focus on the art of acting and reflection, rather than on documentation and exposure. As an anthropologist, I accompany the collective and document its artistic processes and political engagement through articles, talks, and interviews. |
